About The Position

Fort Loudoun Medical Center is equipped with a team of more than 200 doctors in more than 29 specialty areas. Our 87,000-square-foot hospital features advanced technology, including state-of-the-art Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Computerized Tomography (CT), Ultrasound, Diagnostic X-Rays and Women's Imaging Services, as well as Nuclear Medicine technology unique to our surrounding counties. The physicians, staff and volunteers of Fort Loudoun Medical Center are dedicated to providing excellent care to every patient, every time. The position of Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room is a full-time role requiring 72 hours per pay period on the night shift. The nurse will provide professional nursing care within an assigned unit and coordinate care planning with other disciplines.

Requirements

• Minimum Education: None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority.
• Minimum Experience: New graduate, within first (1st) year of orientation (move to level II after one (1) year experience).
• Licensure Requirement: Must have and maintain Tennessee State nursing license. CPR required.

Responsibilities

• Correlates patient history and support systems across continuum of care.
• Completes nursing history and initiates patient education.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams making recommendations to facilitate patient care.
• Implements plan of care appropriate to diagnosis and patient needs. Evaluates outcomes.
• Problem solves and coordinates unit/patient care assignments, with supervision.
• Introduces new employees/students to unit routines.
• Demonstrates active participation in unit or facility activities.
• Demonstrates competence in performing critical skills to include appropriate delivery of care according to the age-specific needs of the population served.
• Supervises LPNs, Nursing Assistants, HUCs, Techs and sitters.
• Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
