About The Position

The Emergency Department RN (Level I Trauma) position is located in Chesapeake, Virginia, just minutes from Virginia Beach and Norfolk. This role requires working night shifts, specifically 3x12-hour shifts, with guaranteed hours of 36 hours per week. The position includes 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule period and may require floating within the facility to meet needs. There is no on-call requirement for this position. The facility is a fast-paced trauma center that serves a diverse range of emergency cases and utilizes the Cerner charting system.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department experience.
• Active Compact or Virginia RN license with no pending licenses accepted.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• ACLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• PALS certification from the American Heart Association.
• CEN certification preferred, but not required.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a Level I Trauma Center.
• Additional certifications in emergency nursing.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in a Level I Emergency Department setting.
• Assess and triage patients in a fast-paced environment.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Document patient care and progress in the Cerner charting system.
