Registered Nurse Emergency Room
About The Position
The Emergency Room Registered Nurse delivers patient-centered care in a fast-paced emergency department, providing treatment for conditions ranging from minor injuries to acutely or critically ill patients. This role requires strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and the ability to remain composed and professional under pressure. The Emergency Room RN triages, assesses, and treats patients of all ages, manages multiple cases simultaneously, and prioritizes care based on acuity levels across the unit. This role includes collaboration with patients, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate follow-up care and referrals, while ensuring accurate, timely documentation and maintaining a patient-focused, safety-aware approach at all times.
Requirements
- Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing required
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred or current enrollment in a BSN program
- One year of Registered Nurse experience in an Emergency Department or acute care setting preferred
- Med Surg experience considered for cross-training on night shift
- Active Registered Nurse license in Virginia or multistate compact RN license required
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
