About The Position

St. Anthony Hospital, located in Lakewood, Colorado, is a Level I Trauma Center providing a full range of medical specialties and health care services. It is the home base for Flight For Life Colorado and features four trauma rooms, including a dedicated field-to-surgery suite. The hospital received Magnet designation in 2023 and holds numerous other awards and accreditations from organizations like the American Heart Association, Chest Pain Center, American College of Cardiology, The Joint Commission, and the Emergency Nurses Association Lantern Award. The Emergency Department is a verified American College of Surgeons’ Level I Trauma Center, a Joint Commission Comprehensive Stroke Center, and a cardiac receiving center. It is a high-volume ED with 46 beds, handling approximately 58,000 visits per year, and receives about 1,000 patients annually from Flight for Life® Colorado. The department is recognized as a Premier Level I ED and an Emergency Services Association Lantern Award recipient, attracting top talent due to its exemplary care and national recognition. The hospital seeks candidates with strong teamwork, collaboration, flexibility, and servant leadership skills to foster a warm and caring environment.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree in Nursing required; Nursing Diploma or by endorsement
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required for new graduates
  • One year RN ED experience
  • Nursing skills and knowledge base specific to specialty
  • RN License required; Current state nursing licenses or valid RN license from a participating state in the National Licensure Compact

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing preferred for experienced RNs

Responsibilities

  • Facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with both the healthcare team, and the patient/family to identify and meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the patient.
  • Promote the optimal health, well-being and safety of the patient through use of the nursing process and in accordance with patient care standards, guidelines and the State Nurse Practice Act.
  • Demonstrate personal accountability for relationship-based care, organizational mission, and core values.
