About The Position

This position is for a registered nurse (RN) at a freestanding emergency room located 8 miles away from Olympia hospital. The facility is projected to be busy due to ambulance traffic and has 10 ED beds, with the potential to increase to 17. The location is at 4312 Pacific Ave South East, Lacey, WA 98503. The RN will work a midshift from 12 PM to 12 AM and will take over respiratory care when the respiratory therapist (RT) is unavailable. The RN will be expected to float to other off-campus emergency department (OCED) sites as needed, and the primary site may change based on operational needs.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of true ER experience (any trauma level).
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, NIHSS, TNCC.
• Strong ED experience and customer service skills.
• Knowledge of medication administration, chest tubes, central lines, and strong IV skills.
• Ability to manage ventilators and BiPAP machines.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with EPIC charting system.
• Familiarity with Alaris and Pyxis equipment.

Responsibilities

• Provide care to patients ranging from neonates to geriatrics, including 25% pediatrics and walk-in traumas.
• Manage care for intubated patients and operate ventilators and BiPAP machines.
• Administer medications, including mixing own medications under pharmacy supervision.
• Perform charge nurse duties as required, with training provided if needed.
• Assist with procedures and medication administration within the scope of LPNs.
• Participate in weekend rotations and maintain flexible scheduling.
