About The Position

ER at NW McCarran provides 24/7 emergency care in a convenient setting. As a full-service emergency room, the facility is capable of treating life-threatening injuries as well as less urgent issues. The facility delivers the same high-quality care as our hospital ER. ER at Damonte Ranch is staffed with a skilled team, including emergency-trained physicians, nurses, and imaging and laboratory staff. The ER is easily accessible and has ample parking, and features a wide range of capabilities and technology.

Requirements

• Current NV RN License
• Two to three years experience in the emergency department preferred OR
• Two to three years critical care experience OR extensive EMS background experience
• Current BLS Certification
• Current ACLS Certification (within 6 months of hire)
• Current PALS Certification (within 6 months of hire)

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other specialists as required and adjusts nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient care.
• Ability to perform a head-to-toe assessment on all patients and reassessments as per policy. This includes pediatric, adolescent and geriatric patients and the general patient population.
• Uses triage process to ensure timely and appropriate care to patients. Accurately assigns triage categories.
• Ability to monitor hemodynamic status of patient and correctly interpret the results.
• Ability to adequately assess and reassess pain. Utilizes appropriate pain management techniques. Educates the patient and family regarding pain management.
