About The Position
Provides for patient needs as recognized through use of the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) and the mission statement; organization and supervision of care provided by supportive personnel; coordination of care provided by ancillary services. Including patients and significant others (SO)/families in developing an individualized plan of care. Education of patients/SO/families to their disease process and plan of care. Serves as patient advocate and responsible for providing care to patients requiring treatment of any medical, surgical, or other condition, including chronic medical and minor injuries or illnesses. Certification- ACLS required within 6 months for the Adult EDs and Free Standing EDs. PALS required within 1 year of hire for the Free Standing EDs and required within 6 months for WCH ED.
Requirements
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
- Licensed Registered Nurse Required
- 1-2 years Medical Surgical Nursing Experience
- Telemetry Experience

- Bachelor's Degree - Nursing
- Emergency Department Experience Preferred
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Preferred
- Certified Emergency Registered Nurse (CEN) Preferred
- Trauma Nurse Core Course Certification (TNCC) Preferred
- NIH Stroke Scale Certification Preferred
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Preferred
- Conscious Sedation Certification Preferred
- ACLS required within 6 months for the Adult EDs and Free Standing EDs
- PALS required within 1 year of hire for the Free Standing EDs and required within 6 months for WCH ED
