About The Position

The position is in a fast-paced, patient-centered emergency department with 17 treatment beds, designed for high-quality, efficient emergency care across all acuity levels. The department utilizes an immediate bedding and team triage mode to prioritize rapid assessment, early intervention, and streamlined patient flow, aiming to enhance safety, reduce wait times, and improve patient outcomes. The ED team is a collaborative group of nurses, providers, technicians, and respiratory therapists dedicated to delivering timely, compassionate care in a dynamic environment. The unit prides itself on strong teamwork, a compassionate culture, communication, mutual respect, and shared accountability, ensuring every patient receives high-quality, empathetic, and individualized care. Requirements

  • 1 year RN experience
  • Associates of Nursing (ASN)
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license
  • Graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program
  • Basic Life Support certification through the AHA
  • Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform Emergency Severity Index (ESI) triage scoring
  • Conduct rapid assessment and prioritization of patients
  • Apply advanced critical thinking in patient care
  • Execute procedural competencies including EKG interpretation, IV insertion, wound care, ortho splinting, lab collection, and point-of-care testing
  • Administer medication and apply emergency pharmacology
  • Manage high-acuity conditions such as STEMI, STROKE, SEPSIS, Cardiac and respiratory failure, and behavioral crises
  • Deliver the highest level of patient care
  • Provide timely, compassionate care in a dynamic environment
