About The Position

We are seeking a skilled and adaptable Registered Nurse (RN) to join a fast-paced Emergency Department. The RN will provide direct patient care and family support within the full scope of practice, ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care in a dynamic environment. This role requires strong clinical judgment, effective communication, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while collaborating with an interdisciplinary healthcare team.

Requirements

  • Associate of Applied Science in Nursing (AAS) required
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of New York
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) – required upon hire
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – required
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – required
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) – required
  • Minimum 2+ years of Emergency Department experience
  • Ability to work Mid or Night shifts
  • Experience with Epic EMR required
  • Strong clinical, communication, and critical thinking skills

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • Experience in a chest pain accredited facility and/or primary stroke center preferred
  • Prior charge nurse experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care in accordance with established nursing standards
  • Perform patient assessments, monitoring, and data collection
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans
  • Address patients’ physical, psychological, emotional, educational, and spiritual needs
  • Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary team members
  • Participate in departmental programs, quality initiatives, and patient care improvements
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation using EMR systems
  • Demonstrate strong communication, time management, and organizational skills
  • Coordinate patient flow and movement throughout the department
  • Assign staff and manage unit workflow
  • Receive and communicate pre-arrival reports from EMS
  • Collaborate with triage nurses and house supervisors regarding patient throughput
  • Work closely with providers, ED techs, ward clerks, and crisis evaluators
  • Support conflict resolution and team coordination
