The Emergency Department is a 30-bed Emergency Care Unit, characterized as a rapid-paced, high-acuity unit handling 155 visits per day and over 55,000 annual visits. The role includes an orientation program facilitated by a Clinical Educator, focused on Emergency Nursing, especially for novice nurses, and offers the Emergency Nursing Association (ENA) orientation curriculum online. This is a PRN (as needed) position requiring a minimum of 24 hours off-shift per 6-week schedule, including 12-hour day/evening/night shifts, and weekend and holiday work as needed. The Registered Nurse is responsible and accountable for implementing, directing, and coordinating patient care through the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This includes recognizing and treating physical and psychosocial changes unique to the age/population group served on the unit.
