About The Position

Looking for a night shift role that offers variety, challenge, and growth across multiple locations? As part of our Regional Float Pool, you’ll rotate between Emergency Departments at various Aurora facilities. This role offers the excitement of travel nursing with the stability of staying within one health system.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department RN experience.
  • Valid BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications (RQI maintained quarterly).
  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in Nursing.
  • Typically requires 1 year of experience in clinical nursing.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality emergency care in fast-paced settings.
  • Collaborate across departments and quickly adapt to new teams.
  • Promote safety and an excellent patient experience in every interaction.
  • Use the nursing process to assess the needs of the patient, plan and implement individualized interventions, and evaluate the effectiveness of the plan of care.
  • Anticipate and recognize significant changes in the patient’s condition, status, and need for care.
  • Provide ongoing assessment of the patient and take appropriate actions when changes occur.
  • Implement strategies to reduce patient risk and increase patient safety.
  • Assess patient and family readiness to learn and individualize the approach as necessary.
  • Actively coordinate the discharge plan utilizing an interdisciplinary approach.
  • Apply evidence-based practice to deliver patient care.
  • Provide ongoing evaluation of patient, team, and unit outcomes and take appropriate action when changes are needed.
  • Support shared governance activities and initiatives to improve processes and patient outcomes.
  • Demonstrate effective communication, feedback, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Promote collaboration among healthcare team members.
  • Assume a leadership role in the care team and delegate appropriately to unlicensed personnel.
  • Promote a culture of safety through identifying threats to patient safety and intervening to prevent patient harm.
  • Participate in quality/process improvement initiatives to improve the functions of the department and the patient care experience.
