About The Position

Weiser Memorial Hospital--rated as one of Idaho's best places to work--is looking to hire a PRN Emergency Department Registered Nurse to join our team. The Emergency Department Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care within the Emergency Department and coordinates care planning with other disciplines. Determines priorities of care based on the physical and psychosocial needs of patients, as well as factors influencing patient flow through the system. Can triage safely, rapidly, and accurately every patient that enters the emergency care system. Communicates with ED physicians regarding changes in patients’ status, symptomatology, and results of diagnostic studies. Responds quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with three (3) years registered nurse experience within the last 48 months, and two (2) years of critical care or emergency nursing experience preferred.
  • Current Registered Nurse license within the state of Idaho.
  • Current BLS Certification.
  • ACLS certified upon hire recommended. Obtained within six (6) months of hire required.
  • PALS certified upon hire recommended. Obtained within eight (8) months of hire required.
  • NRP recommended within twelve (12) months of hire.
  • ENPC encouraged.
  • TNCC recommended within eighteen (18) months of hire.
  • CEN or CERN strongly encouraged after 2 years of Emergency Department experience.
  • Works a minimum of every other weekend, rotates holidays and shares equally in on-call coverage with other unit nurses as needed.
  • Ability to use sound judgment and cope with potentially stressful situations.
  • Ability and willingness to exhibit behaviors consistent with standards of performance improvement and organizational values (e.g., efficiency & financial responsibility, safety, partnership & service, teamwork, compassion, integrity, and trust & respect).
  • Ability and willingness to exhibit behaviors consistent with principles for service excellence.
  • Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Additional languages preferred.
  • Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide – figure rates, ratio, and percent).
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.

Nice To Haves
