About The Position

Baystate Health, a nationally recognized leader in healthcare quality and safety, and home to Baystate Medical Center (BMC), a Magnet Hospital for Nursing Excellence is looking for an EP lab Registered Nurses to join our team! The RN in the Electrophysiology Lab circulates, scrubs and monitors EP procedures while working closely with the Cardiologist and other members of the team. Procedures performed in the EP Lab are: pacemaker implants; ICD implants; loop recorder implants; tilt table studies; electrophysiology studies and ablations for various cardiac arrhythmias. This team uses leading technology and procedures and is passionate about continuous improvement and innovation. This is a position that varies in pace and will require a lot of attention to detail and multi-tasking skills. To be successful as a nurse in our EP Lab, you will need to be an experienced nurse who can work autonomously and as a team. You will need to embrace the unexpected, be adaptable, and resilient. During mild sedation you will be response for keeping the patient comfortable throughout the procedure. Strong communication skills is necessary in this position. a strong cardiac background is preferred.

Requirements

  • Successfully passed Board of Registration in Nursing Examination and is licensed in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
  • Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider CPR certification required.
  • Education: AND required; BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

  • The provision of nursing care to assigned patients in accordance with current BH Standards of Care.
  • Administering and monitoring patient response to therapeutic interventions.
  • Demonstrating knowledge and application of the nursing process as it relates to patients and families.
  • Collaborating with health team members, patients/families in the provision of care.
  • Delegating and providing direct supervision to other health team members as appropriate in the implementation of the patient care plan.
  • Acting as an advocate for patients/families/significant others.
  • Practicing within accepted ethical and legal parameters of nursing.
