About The Position

The Registered Nurse manages individualized, goal directed nursing care through use of the nursing process and the principles of primary nursing in accordance with departmental and hospital policies and procedures. This position provides assistance to physicians in all patient related activities, including continuous EKG monitoring, medications, IVs, oxygen therapy, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS_CCI) within 18 Months Required or Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES_CCI) within 18 Months Required or Certified Electrophysiology Specialist (CEPS) within 18 Months Required or CNOR (CNOR) within 18 Months Required or Acute/Critical Care Nursing (Adult) (ACCA_AACN) within 18 Months Required or Certified Emergency Nurse within 18 Months Required or Cardiac-Vascular Nursing (CVN_ANCC) within 18 Months Required
Demonstrated clinical competence in critical care nursing, knowledge, and skills

Responsibilities

Assesses and diagnoses patient and family needs to provide quality care to assigned patients.
Develops, discusses, and communicates a realistic plan of care for each patient, in collaboration with each patient/significant other in order to address all identified needs.
Demonstrates the skills and judgment necessary to implement medical plan of care, nursing interventions, and procedures as necessary for the care of the patient.
Evaluates the identified problems, care provided, and patient’s responses are reassessed to meet patient and family needs and assure overall quality of care delivered.
Performs all responsibilities/duties required by the cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology laboratory division as defined in the scope of service, to assure that the unique nature of the client is addressed.
Maintains up to date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided to ensure the integration of information for use by the healthcare team, to ensure quality care.
Maintains current knowledge/certification/licensure.
Pursues professional growth and development.
Assist in other duties as assigned to support the operational needs of the department and organization.
May be required to remain on campus immediately before, during, and after severe weather and/or disasters.
