About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated Per-Diem Registered Nurse for an opening at a Medical Center in Selma, AL. In this role, you will deliver high-quality, compassionate care in a dynamic Emergency Department/ Emergency Room setting, managing a diverse patient population and collaborating with a skilled healthcare team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited program.
  • Active, unencumbered RN license from the state of Alabama.
  • Minimum of 6 months of RN work experience.
  • Current CPR certification (Basic Life Support preferred).
  • Clean background check, negative TB test results, annual physical, COVID-19 vaccination, and other requirements as specified by the facility or agency.
  • Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, effective communication, cultural competency, collaboration, adaptability, and a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Rapidly assess, triage, and prioritize patients based on acuity using established emergency nursing protocols.
  • Provide direct emergency nursing care, including medication administration, IV therapy, wound care, cardiac monitoring, and trauma response.
  • Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement timely treatment plans in fast-paced, high-pressure situations.
  • Continuously monitor patient status and promptly recognize, document, and respond to changes in condition.
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, discharge instructions, and follow-up care while ensuring compassionate, patient-centered care.
