About The Position

The position is for a full-time Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department at Advocate South Suburban Hospital. The role requires working 36 hours per week, typically in three 12-hour shifts, with a rotating schedule that includes weekends and holidays. The pay range for this position is between $37.50 and $56.25 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Illinois RN license.
• BSN preferred; ADN acceptable with agreement to enroll in a BSN completion program within four years for nurses with less than 12 months of experience.
• Nurses with more than 12 months of experience must possess a BSN or obtain an AAH recognized nursing certification within one year of hire.
• Current AHA CPR certification.
• Ability to work weekends, holidays, and different shifts.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in direct patient care in an emergency setting.
• Certification in advanced life support or trauma care.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department.
• Assist in the evacuation of patients in case of fire or other disasters.
• Respond to patients in a timely manner and access all areas of the unit.
• Work with potentially infectious specimens and patients.
• Lift patients up to 35 pounds without assistance, using patient handling equipment for heavier lifts.
