About The Position

At Geneva General Hospital, part of UR Medicine Finger Lakes Health, we are committed to providing high-quality, compassionate care to our community. We are currently seeking a dedicated Dialysis RN to join our team. This is an opportunity to make a difference every day in the lives of patients managing renal disease, while working in a supportive and collaborative environment. Under the direction of the Dialysis Program Director, the Dialysis RN coordinates, delegates, supervises, and provides nursing care for patients 18 years and older. The RN utilizes the nursing process to deliver safe, patient-centered care during acute and chronic dialysis treatments. This role requires strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to provide holistic support to patients and their families.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved school of Registered Professional Nursing.
  • Current NYS RN License required.
  • BLS certification required (completed through the RQI system during orientation).
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong organizational skills; able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; fosters teamwork and collaboration.
  • Computer literacy required; experience with Microsoft Office and EMR systems preferred.
  • Commitment to the principles of the Healing Environment: professionalism, effective communication, and respect for patient dignity.
  • Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills to provide appropriate care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient groups, applying principles of growth and development across the lifespan.

Nice To Haves

  • One year of experience in Dialysis, ICU, CCU, ER, or OR.
  • experience with Microsoft Office and EMR systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care for those requiring hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis.
  • Coordinate care based on the physiological, psychological, emotional, and cultural needs of patients.
  • Ensure compliance with approved med/surg standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Support a professional and healing environment that promotes safety, dignity, and respect.
  • Adhere to infection control protocols and manage potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens.
