About The Position

As a Registered Nurse Imaging with Texas Orthopedic Hospital, you will be part of an organization devoted to giving back to the community. Under the general direction of the Director of Radiology, the Radiology Nurse is responsible for professional nursing care and related assistance to patients in Radiology. This role involves patient assessment, monitoring of patients pre and post examination, and providing IV contrast and oral sedation under the direct supervision of the Radiologist.

Requirements

• Texas State RN License
• BCLS certification
• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
• Previous experience in clinical nursing preferred

Responsibilities

• Plans, coordinates, and provides nursing care to promote continuity of patient care and departmental objectives.
• Exercises judgment in the delegation of activities to ensure that patient care is provided by staff with identified competencies.
• Communicates effectively with the Director of Radiology to address problems or opportunities for improvement.
• Facilitates coordination of patient care among all disciplines providing patient care services.
• Acts as a patient advocate in obtaining care and questioning orders when necessary.
• Utilizes available in-service programs and self-directed learning activities to enhance professional nursing practice.
• Actively participates in the Departmental Performance Improvement Program.
