Registered Nurse - Dermatology Clinic
About The Position
Come enjoy the lake life at our beautiful Mercyhealth Walworth Campus in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. We are actively looking for Registered Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses to join our dermatology team. Rate of pay is based on designation and experience. Provides compassionate, culturally sensitive, holistic nursing care to patients in a clinical setting, supporting the Mercyhealth nursing mission, practice values and strategic plan. May include variable shifts, weekends, holiday and/or on-call hours. Performs other duties as assigned including floating to various units based on identified needs and clinical competency.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- ADN required upon hire, BSN preferred.
- May require specific years of applicable experience to qualify (per department guidelines)
- Licensed as an RN in state of practice
- Approved CPR/BLS certification required within 90 days
- Graduate of an accredited LPN Program OR
- Wisconsin: Have completed the portion of the RN Program needed to obtain a certificate of completion in practical nursing.
- Illinois: Have completed the designated curriculum of a Ladder Option Approved Designated RN Program.
- Licensed as an LPN in the State of Practice
- Approved CPR or BLS certification within 90 days

Responsibilities
- Prepare patients and treatment rooms for dermatologic procedures.
- Assist the physician with medical procedures, including:
- Skin biopsies
- Excisions
- Cryotherapy
- Intralesional and cosmetic injections
- Administer injections as directed by the physician (e.g., local anesthesia, intralesional, or cosmetic injectables).
- Apply and remove dressings, sutures, and wound care materials.
- Document procedures, treatments, and patient interactions accurately in the medical record.
- Perform or assist with cosmetic treatments such as chemical peels, microneedling, and light-based therapies.
- Operate and maintain laser and energy-based devices (training provided).
- Educate patients on pre- and post-procedure care and answer questions about cosmetic treatments.
- Greet and prepare patients for evaluation and procedures.
- Obtain and document medical histories and treatment consents.
- Provide patient education on diagnoses, medications, and home care instructions.
- Support the provider in maintaining a high standard of safety and patient satisfaction.
