About The Position
We are seeking an experienced Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Registered Nurse to join a high-performing Open Heart surgical team at a large acute-care hospital in Delaware. This role is ideal for a motivated OR nurse with cardiac surgery experience who is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care and clinical outcomes. The selected RN will function as a key member of the open-heart surgical team, providing perioperative nursing care to patients undergoing complex cardiovascular procedures while supporting patients and families through compassionate, patient-centered care. Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Commitment to obtaining BSN within three (3) years of hire may be considered with relevant experience
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license required
- Minimum of three (3) years of Operating Room nursing experience
- Cardiac Open-Heart / CVOR experience required
Responsibilities
- Provide direct perioperative nursing care in the Cardiovascular Operating Room
- Assist with open-heart and cardiovascular surgical procedures
- Ensure adherence to surgical safety standards, sterile technique, and clinical protocols
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, perfusionists, and surgical team members
- Support patients and families through education and compassionate care
- Participate in on-call rotation for open-heart cases as required
