Organization: VUH Inpatient Float Pool Job Summary: JOB SUMMARY: The Critical Care Registered Nurse Float will apply the nursing process to plan and implement the care of patients, including patient and family education and continuum of care planning. The Float Critical Care RN effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to the health care team; collaborates in establishing patient goals and evaluates progress to ensure effective outcomes. Further your professional growth by engaging in learning activities according to the Board of Nursing standards. Relocation stipend for eligible new hires. DEPARTMENT SUMMARY: Float Pool Critical Care Nurses provide specialty services throughout the Vanderbilt University Medical Center Adult Hospital, including Critical Care units, PACU, ED, Step-Down, and Med-Surg areas. Flexibility is a key job requirement for the Float Pool, as our highly skilled staff must be placed where the need is greatest. Supplemental staffing provides a crucial service for our customers, not only to ensure safe quality patient care, but provides support for our unit colleagues as well. You will be offered opportunities to expand your knowledge and maintain an expansive skill set which will enable you to become a resource to others. POSITION SHIFT: Nightshift 7PM - 7AM (36 hours/week). This is a full-time role with premium pay.

Requirements

  • LIC-Registered Nurse - Licensure-Others
  • Relevant Work Experience
  • Experience Level: 1 year
  • Graduate of an approved discipline specific program: Nursing (Required)

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates in establishing the plan of care, coordinates and implements care delivery while anticipating patient care needs across the continuum.
  • Analyzes comprehensive information pertinent to the patient's care and management to determine nursing diagnosis.
  • Continually utilizes the nursing process to evaluate patient's progress towards goals and applies appropriate interventions to ensure effective outcomes.
  • Employs strategies to promote health and a safe and healthy environment.
