The Critical Care Registered Nurse Float will apply the nursing process to plan and implement the care of patients, including patient and family education and continuum of care planning. The Float Critical Care RN effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to the health care team; collaborates in establishing patient goals and evaluates progress to ensure effective outcomes. Further your professional growth by engaging in learning activities according to the Board of Nursing standards. Float Pool Critical Care Nurses provide specialty services throughout the Vanderbilt University Medical Center Adult Hospital, including Critical Care units, PACU, ED, Step-Down, and Med-Surg areas. Flexibility is a key job requirement for the Float Pool, as our highly skilled staff must be placed where the need is greatest. Supplemental staffing provides a crucial service for our customers, not only to ensure safe quality patient care, but provides support for our unit colleagues as well.
