RN - Critical Care - Adult PACU
About The Position
Cedar Park Med is hiring experienced Registered Nurses (RNs) for an Adult PACU (Post-Anesthesia Care Unit) assignment at a downtown hospital. This role requires strong critical care and inpatient PACU experience, with the ability to deliver safe, high-quality pre- and post-operative nursing care with minimal orientation and supervision in a fast-paced recovery room setting. Schedule / Shift 12-hour shifts | 6 shifts per two-week period Day and evening rotations: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM / 11:00 AM – 11:30 PM (1100–2330) Every other weekend required, no call 13 week assignment with possible extension Hiring for both local and traveler positions! Only candidates outside a 50-mile radius qualify for traveler roles. Rates vary based on experience and whether the position is local or traveler.
Requirements
- Current New York State RN license/registration
- BLS certification (must be able to be re-certified)
- Minimum of 2 years of recent experience (within the past 2 years) in an acute care facility of similar size and acuity
- Inpatient PACU experience
- Critical Care experience
Nice To Haves
- Experience using EPIC Electronic Medical Records
Responsibilities
- Perform the majority of patient care skills required in an adult PACU setting with minimal orientation and supervision
- Conduct thorough nursing assessments appropriate to post-anesthesia and critical care acuity
- Provide safe, effective pre-operative and post-operative nursing care
- Monitor patients during recovery and promptly report changes in condition
- Collaborate with anesthesiology, surgeons, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to support patient care
