Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
  • Licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN).
  • Minimum of one year of hospital clinical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and coordinate all nursing care based on established clinical nursing practice standards.
  • Collaborate with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes.
  • Practice nursing as defined by the diagnosis and treatment of human responses to actual or potential health alterations.
  • Utilize the nursing process in the provision of nursing care including administering treatments and medications, interpreting diagnostic tests, formulating a plan of care, collaborating with other health care providers, and providing education to patients and/or significant others.
  • Collect patient health data and determine the priority of data collection based on the patient's immediate condition or needs.
  • Document relevant data in the medical record according to hospital standards.
  • Analyze assessment data to determine diagnoses/patient problems and document them appropriately.
  • Identify expected outcomes individualized to the patient and document them as measurable goals.
  • Develop a plan of care that prescribes interventions to attain expected outcomes and document the plan.
  • Implement the interventions identified in the plan of care and document interventions.
  • Evaluate the patient's progress toward attainment of outcomes and document responses to interventions.
  • Participate in quality-of-care activities to monitor and improve nursing care.
