This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. The Community Living Center (CLC) Restorative Coordinator Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing competent, evidence-based care to assigned residents and oversight of licensed vocational nurses/nursing assistants, as appropriate to the setting. The nurse will assist in directing the provision of nursing education, orientation, competencies and providing quality improvement and outcomes utilization consultation. The CLC Restorative Coordinator RN duties include, but are not limited to, the following: All elements of the nursing process when providing and/or supervising direct patient care Administers medications and procedures per established policies and guidelines. Evaluates patients in the CLC upon admission to Restorative Care Program and monthly thereafter to determine the potential for the program. Screens Veterans and conducting initial assessment prior to admission to the Restorative Care Program. Collaborates with educators, Occupational Therapy (OT), Physical Therapy (PT) in recruiting and admitting patients to the Restorative Care Program and develops goals to maximize the patient's independence and functioning. Evaluates patient progress toward their goals monthly and institutes changes in therapy, goals, and activity when necessary. Monitors assignments to ensure they are appropriate with the level of education and training demonstrated of restorative personnel. Accountable to develop and implement educational programs and/or in-services to keep nursing staff current in restorative care practice and documented competencies. Provides peers with informal constructive feedback for improvement. Questions clinical practices for the purpose of providing evidence-based care.
