About The Position

As the RN Clinical Risk Manager, operating under the direction of the Director, assists in the planning and implementation activities of the facility-wide Risk Management program. This includes identifying and assessing potential risk, planning and implementing loss prevention and loss control activities, and maintaining appropriate risk management records. Assists the director with quality-of-care issues by using established Policy and Procedures, hospital and Medical Staff Bylaws, and Rules & Regulations, conducts reviews of patient records deemed as high risk to the facility. Provides support role to Director and acts as designee.

Requirements

  • Associate from an accredited school of Nursing upon hire Required
  • Current clinical experience in a healthcare setting Required
  • Project management and analytical experience upon hire Required
  • RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure Current Florida State Required
  • Expertise with MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, Access and Power Point required
  • Expertise with an Electronic Health Record/Electronic Medical Record required

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's from an accredited school of nursing or healthcare related field Preferred
  • Critical Care clinical Preferred
  • CPHRM - Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the planning and implementation of the facility-wide Risk Management program.
  • Identify and assess potential risks.
  • Plan and implement loss prevention and loss control activities.
  • Maintain appropriate risk management records.
  • Assist the director with quality-of-care issues using established policies and procedures.
  • Conduct reviews of patient records deemed high risk to the facility.
  • Serve as a resource to hospital administration, employees, and physicians on Risk Management/legal/ethical issues.
  • Review, investigate, and process internal event report system for assigned area in compliance with Florida Statute 395.0197.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report aggregated event report data to the Director and assigned hospital leaders.
  • Manage the identification, investigation, resolution, and prevention of patient care-related grievances per established patient grievance protocol.
  • Assist with regulatory surveys and/or legal investigations.
