This position requires that the nurse work providing patient care on a regular basis and possesses strong communication skills to effectively work with patients, families, physicians and all other health care disciplines. Facilitator responsibilities include but not limited to: effective and efficient utilization of resources and day to day operations of the surgical schedule, staff schedules, staff assignments, staff development, quality monitoring, assistance with development and implementation of improvement action plans and department project work. Strict adherence to standards of care related to the perioperative patient population utilizing best practice. Must be a high functioning, independent practitioner able to work closely with nursing leadership on the development of additional services and staff needs. Must be able to function as a resource to the department of nursing for patient related needs. Strong communication, time organizational and leadership skills are essential. Co-chair for department staff meeting, participating in the agenda preparations.
