About The Position

St. Mary's Regional Hospital in beautiful Grand Junction, CO, is opening a 16 room Clinical Decision Unit (CDU) in May. We are seeking experienced Registered Nurses who have worked with emergent or complex patients. The CDU will care for patients who need more observation after being seen in the Emergency Department, or after a procedure such as cardiac catheterization, endoscopy or short stay procedure. Patients will remain in the unit 23 hours or less and will be discharged or admitted based on their progress. RNs and EMTs will staff the unit, and the admitting physicians will provide orders for treatments, discharge or admission. Nurse to patient ratio is 1:4.

Requirements

• 3 years of clinical experience required
• Emergency Department experience preferred
• Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing
• Current Colorado license as a Registered Nurse is required
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS-HCP) and ACLS certification upon hire or obtained within 60 days of hire is required

Nice To Haves

• If you have an ASN/ADN degree, you must complete a BSN degree within four years from your date of hire unless you have fifteen years of continuous RN experience in an acute care setting.
