About The Position

The RN Clinical Expanded Role I in Medical Oncology at Intermountain Health is responsible for implementing and supporting special clinical projects and assignments as designated by the manager. This role acts as a resource to the RN Staff, serving as a knowledge expert to improve patient care within the Gossner Cancer Center at Logan Regional Hospital. The position requires collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, while also promoting nursing professionalism and participating in the development of others.

Requirements

  • Current RN License in state of practice.
  • Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.
  • Current ACLS Certification.
  • Current PALS Certification.
  • 1 year of clinical nursing experience.
  • Experience in assigned clinical area.
  • Mentoring experience.
  • RNs hired or promoted into this role need to have or obtain their BSN within three years of hire or promotion.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
  • Leadership experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform appropriate assessment of physical, social, and psychological status of patients.
  • Collaboratively develop individualized plans of care using assessment information and critical thinking skills.
  • Direct the interdisciplinary care team via delegation, coordination, and collaboration.
  • Evaluate patient response to interventions and revise plans of care as necessary.
  • Promote the nursing profession and participate in the development of others.
  • Provide clinical expertise in assigned specialty area and participate in clinical program initiatives.
  • Act as a consultant and mentor to staff within the department or specialty care area.
  • Utilize current research to recommend improvements to nursing practice.
