The Pain Management Registered Nurse (RN) provides leadership to clinical support team for interprofessional care of patients with complex pain-related needs and intuitively identifies primary source of patients' problems based on knowledge and experience with patients experiencing pain. The Pain Management Registered Nurse (RN) provides leadership to clinical support team for interprofessional care of patients with complex pain-related needs and intuitively identifies primary source of patients' problems based on knowledge and experience with patients experiencing pain. Provides patient-specific pain education to patients and families related to routine and complex procedures. Leads clinical support group in evidence-based quality improvement activities related to pain management and measuring outcomes. Assists provider with procedural sedation for patients with complex medical needs, including persistent pain. The nurse will mentor, teach, and precept nurses and other healthcare professionals in the care of patients with complex pain.
