About The Position

Working under the guidance of the Clinical Coordinator, you'll care for infants, children, and adolescents with the blend of empathy, expertise, and calm confidence that only a pediatric nurse brings. You'll assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and supervise patient care according to our policies, the ND Nurse Practice Act, and national best practices. Bring our mission to life by fostering a healing, kid-centered environment that honors the emotional, physical, psychological, and spiritual needs of children and their families. Deliver safe, high-quality care by adhering to CHI St. Alexius standards, ND Board of Nursing guidelines, and all regulatory policies. Use the full nursing process-assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation-to create individualized care plans focused on optimal outcomes for pediatric patients. Support and educate families with warmth and clarity, helping them understand care plans, treatments, and what to expect-because parents need comfort too. Promote safety by maintaining strict infection-control practices, safe medication administration, and compliance with controlled substance regulations. Delegate with purpose, respect, and awareness of team member competencies and each child's unique needs. Document care with accuracy and compassion, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and medical center standards. Collaborate like a pro, building strong relationships with physicians, therapists, and the entire care team to support coordinated, family-centered care. Maintain unit-specific and age-specific competencies, continuing to grow your pediatric skill set.

  • BLS certification (or ability to obtain during orientation).
  • Excellent communication with patients, families, and team members.
  • Ability to stay calm, compassionate, and clear-even when caring for stressed parents or scared little ones.
  • Commitment to teamwork, confidentiality, and positive professional relationships.
