About The Position

The position is within the Cardiac Catheterization Lab-EP department, where the nurse collaborates with physicians to create a care plan aimed at returning patients to optimal health. The role involves providing bedside nursing care, executing medical orders, and overseeing the functions of various support staff including Nurse Assistants and Patient Care Associates. The nurse is also responsible for evaluating the effectiveness of the care plan.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and holding a current license to practice in the state of Michigan.
• Minimum one-year clinical experience in critical care area/special procedures/surgery and step-down cardiac care.
• BLS Certification.
• Advance cardiac life support (ACLS) certification.
• Arrhythmia Management.
• Proficient in computer application.

Nice To Haves

• Previous cardiac catheterization laboratory or CVH experience.
• Six months experience in an acute care setting or equivalent preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
• E.P. experience for E.P. staff members only.
• Dysrhythmia interpretation and management.
• Advanced mapping experience.
• Experience in EP.

• Functions as a team leader to ensure proper patient placement and delegation of assignments.
