The Registered Nurse plans, organizes and directs hospice care and is experienced in nursing with emphasis on community health education/experience.
Requirements
- Must hold a current, valid RN license through the State Board of Nursing
- Complies with accepted professional standards and practice.
- Demonstrates good verbal and written communication, and organization skills.
- Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state and/or organization requirements and is in good working order.
- Possesses and maintains current CPR certification.
Nice To Haves
- Community health/hospice is preferred but willing to train the right candidate.
Responsibilities
- Completing hospice evaluations as requested (admission if comfortable and training would be provided)
- Conducting in home visits as assigned; assessing the patient’s condition, and teaching the patient and family
- Developing care plans based on diagnosis and needs
- Administering medications and treatments as prescribed by physician
- Communicating patient needs and changes with the team as necessary
