About The Position

The Behavioral Health Intake Admissions Nurse is a licensed position providing Nursing interventions, assessments, Intake/Crisis Evaluations, diagnosis, prognosis, counseling, and psychotherapeutic interventions.

Requirements

  • One (1) year experience or more experience of behavioral crisis assessment/management
  • Ability to deal with people who may be combative
  • Knowledge of psychodynamic principles and fundamentals of psychotherapy
  • One (1) year or more experience in application and formulation of diagnostic categories of mental illness (i.e. DSM-IV or DSM-V)
  • Knowledge of psychopharmacology and disease entities and interventions, nursing skills and procedures, principles, techniques and trends in counseling, psychotherapy, crisis management, clinical case management, and various treatment modalities, biological, behavioral and environmental aspects of emotional disturbances, mental disability, retardation and substance abuse, culturally proficient practices with diverse caseload, scope and activities of the public and private health and welfare agencies and other available resources, principles and techniques of mental health education, prevention, and crisis intervention within the community
  • Current CA Registered Nurse License
  • BLS for Healthcare Providers
  • Behavioral Management Training as mandated by hospital
