Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years RN work experience is required.
  • Graduate from Specialty Training Program-Nursing (Required)
  • Licensed Registered Nurse (Pennsylvania) - RN_State of Pennsylvania

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Trauma experience is strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree-Nursing (Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Maintains and updates the trauma registry and performance improvement database.
  • Assists with the development and implementation of the trauma performance improvement program.
  • Conducts daily clinical rounds on trauma patients providing clinical and systems focused assessment.
  • Concurrently obtains demographic, clinical and outcomes focused information from trauma patient medical records and electronic database sources.
  • Assures a high degree of accuracy for all data coded, abstracted and entered into the database.
  • Prepares and obtains accurate trauma patient information and reports concurrently within 6 weeks of discharge.
  • Collaboratively assures compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Facilitates the development of action plans related to quality issues and implements resolution of system issues in collaboration with leadership.
  • Maintains, updates and enters data into the system collaboratively with team members and provides reports to support performance improvement initiatives.
  • Collaboratively develops daily patient log and prepares agendas.
  • Serves as a liaison and collaborates with all departments involved in the care of the trauma patient.
  • Assists departments as needed in trauma data management.
  • Communicates with referring institutions and providers and reports all quality improvement issues and discharge status.
