Registered Nurse Case Manager - Emergency Department
About The Position
Under general direction of the Director, this position provides care-transition for patients moving to higher or lower levels of care from the Emergency Department. This is a position within the Case Management Department which includes nurse and social work case managers who collaborate with nursing, physicians, and the interdisciplinary team to ensure that optimal, quality care is delivered in the most efficient and cost-effective manner by monitoring specific patient care needs and providing care coordination and resource referral to ensure effective outcomes. This position must prioritize, identify, and intervene to address broader patient care needs.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.
- Three (3) years of acute care nursing experience.
- Current State of Alaska Registered Nurse license. (must meet education requirement(s) for Alaska State licensure)
- Reference Mandatory Education for Clinical and Support Staff Policy for most current Certification requirements.
- All new employees are required to produce a negative drug screen for all illegal substances in the State of Alaska prior to start of employment.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor's of Science in Nursing preferred.
- One (1) year experience in utilization review, case management, care coordination, quality management or similar role is preferred.
