Requirements

  • Greater than one year of operating room or procedural nursing experience required.
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current licensure, or eligibility for licensure, in the State of New York.
  • Maintains current BLS/CPR certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in critical care and emergency room training.
  • National certification in nursing.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures quality nursing care is rendered to all patients in accordance with the New York Nurse Practice Act and National Standards of Practice.
  • Plans, directs, and supervises the care of patients utilizing the Nursing Process.
  • Involved in the provision of direct care of patients and families.
  • Monitors and assists with procedures in the OR suite.
  • Coordinates and directs care with surgeons, clinical affiliates, scrub techs, and circulating RNs.
