About The Position
The staff nurse is a registered professional nurse, participating on a team together with attending faculty and residents responsible for the delivery and management of patient care utilizing the nursing process and adhering to the standards of the Delaware Nursing Practice Act. Through diverse avenues of patient contact, the nurse strives to provide safe, appropriate and effective patient care in accordance with St Francis Family Practice Center’s policies and procedures. Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
- Current PA RN license
- BLS certification

Responsibilities
- Performs selected nursing and administrative duties and assists physicians as part of the clinical care team.
- Conducts pre-visit planning by reviewing and updating patient charts prior to appointment with recent test results and correspondence and determines needed services per practice protocol.
- Confers with physician regarding any incomplete patient tests/ consults or other incomplete orders prior to patient visit.
- Prepares patients for examination and treatment by escorting them from the waiting area to the exam room and taking histories and vital signs.
- Gives injections and assists with OB/GYN exams and procedures.
