About The Position

Under the general supervision of the Director of Cardiology, the Cardiology Stress Laboratory RN functions within the framework of the CVMC standards of patient care by serving as an integral member of the Cardiology Services team involved in all aspects of diagnostic cardiac stress procedures. Performs exercise testing on the adult patient population. Uses advanced cardiovascular knowledge and skills to manage situations and problems that are inherent to cardiac exercise studies. When needed, performs other non-invasive procedures in department. The RN demonstrates leadership qualities in the areas of interpersonal communication, quality assurance, education and data assessment. Assists with information management and equipment maintenance. Functions within the scope of practice of Cardiology Services, the nursing department, and the hospital policy and procedures. Supports the philosophy, objectives and goals of the hospital.

Requirements

  • BASIC KNOWLEDGE Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as a team.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Demonstrated documentation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills .An ability to work well with all levels of staff in a manner that values interaction and compromise.
  • Knowledge of cardiac rhythms, ECG interpretation.
  • In-depth knowledge of cardiac anatomy and physiology.
  • Knowledge of cardiac pharmacology.
  • Working knowledge of computer based data systems.
  • MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Registered Nurse licensed in Vermont.
  • Current ACLS certification.
  • Critical Care, Cardiology and previous experience with intravenous placement required.
