About The Position

Performs Exercise stress treadmills, exercise Nuclear Stress tests & stress ECHOs under the direct supervision of the supervising cardiologist. In addition, starts IVs, assists with bubble and other studies that may require IV medication. Essential Functions: Performs stress testing per departmental and Supervising Physician’s protocol. Supports the Nuclear Medicine program by performing nuclear, regular and pharmacological stress tests Assures stress test is ordered and screens patient for appropriate indications and contraindication prior to the exam, assess baseline ECG, blood pressure, and explain stress procedure to patient for patient education and satisfaction Monitor ECG, blood pressure, patient symptoms (if any) throughout exam per protocol by the Supervising Cardiologist and record as required for a complete and accurate medical record Notify Supervising Cardiologist of EKG changes or upon completion of exam to review data prior to patient discharge from clinic Assists with Dobutamine Stress Echo, Definity/Echo contrast studies & Echo Bubble Studies according to policy and procedure Maintains overall patient experience and safety, following all emergency clinical policies and protocols, to allow for optimal experience of care

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in nursing
  • Active RN License
  • Basic Life Support
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support
  • 5 years nursing experience within a cardiac specialty
