Ball Memorial's Cardiac Progressive Care an 18-bed unit that specializes in cardiac patient population; HF; pre & post cardiac catheterization patients; pre & post CV surgery patients; arrhythmias; cardiac drips. On the Cardiac Progressive Care Unit, we use a multidisciplinary team approach consisting of nurses, physicians, patient care assistants, case managers, and secretarial support staff. We pride ourselves on our strong partnership and high-quality care we deliver to our patients. Nursing skills gained on this unit: Care of chest tubes and art lines. Managing and titrating drips. Management of drains, tubes, lines (ostomies, feeding tubes, central lines, etc.) Surgical site care (sutures, staples, dressing changes) Trach care Unit Successes/Designations: We have a UBC that meets monthly to discuss unit needs, concerns, and areas of opportunity. We have multiple nurses who are professionally engaged through nurse lead councils and certification.
