About The Position

The Registered Nurse position in the Cardiothoracic Stepdown/PCU Stepdown Unit involves providing high-quality nursing care to adult patients with cardiac and oncology-related complications. The role requires expertise in managing patients pre and post catheterization procedures, administering chemotherapy, and maintaining cardiac drips, all within a progressive care setting. The nurse will work in a 13-bed unit with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:3, ensuring optimal care and support for patients recovering from serious medical conditions.

Requirements

• Current RN License
• BLS Certification
• ACLS Certification
• 1 year of recent Cardiothoracic/PCU Stepdown experience
• Experience in trauma medicine preferred
• NIHSS Certification
• Compact State Nurse License
• 1 year of Epic experience

Nice To Haves

• Previous travel nursing experience
• Experience in oncology nursing
• Trauma experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to adult patients in the Cardiothoracic Stepdown/PCU Stepdown Unit.
• Administer chemotherapy and maintain cardiac drips as required.
• Monitor and assess patients pre and post catheterization procedures.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Document patient care and progress using the EPIC electronic medical record system.
