About The Position

The Registered Nurse is a member of the interdisciplinary team working in collaboration with the Physician. The Registered Nurse utilizes the nursing care process consistent with their license and/or certification including initiation of culturally competent continuum of care including inpatient, outpatient and community settings. The Cardiac Operating Room Registered Nurse is responsible to oversee any necessary coordination of the interdisciplinary surgical plan of care and provides for its consistency with the surgical treatment plan.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred.
• Current Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey or current multi-state license required.
• BLS required.
• Valid NJ Driver's License is required for all employees in the Adult and Child Partial Programs.
• Proficiency in Clinical Applications preferred at time of hire; skill required within 30-60 days from date of hire.

Nice To Haves

• 2-4 years medical/surgical experience preferred.
• 2 years emergency room experience preferred.
• ACLS required within 6 months of initial assignment and continuously maintained thereafter.
• Completion of ATCN or TNCC after 24 months of initial assignment.
• Minimum of 8 contact hours of education every year in basic trauma assessment, intervention, and stabilization.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Physician as part of the interdisciplinary team.
• Utilize the nursing care process consistent with nursing license and/or certification.
• Initiate culturally competent continuum of care in inpatient, outpatient, and community settings.
• Oversee coordination of the interdisciplinary surgical plan of care.
• Ensure consistency with the surgical treatment plan.
