About The Position
Join a high-performing medical-surgical telemetry unit delivering exceptional care to patients with cardiac and neurological conditions. This 27-bed unit manages telemetry patients, post-CABG, myocardial infarction, chest pain, and similar high-acuity diagnoses. The facility is known for strong teamwork, supportive leadership, and a commitment to patient safety and satisfaction.
Requirements
- Current Florida RN license or Compact RN license (must convert to FL license within 90 days)
- Minimum 1 year of recent acute care RN experience
- Experience with telemetry and cardiac monitoring required
- BLS and ACLS (American Heart Association) required
- NIHSS certification required within 30 days of hire
- ASN or Nursing Diploma required (BSN preferred)
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience with telemetry, stepdown, or med/surg telemetry units
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Long-term commitment preferred (not a travel contract role)
Responsibilities
- Provide evidence-based nursing care for patients with cardiovascular and neurological conditions
- Interpret telemetry strips and recognize arrhythmias and emergent conditions
- Monitor patient condition and document assessments and interventions accurately
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary care teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Educate patients and families on treatment, medications, and discharge plans
