About The Position

Beloit Health System is hiring for a Registered Nurse to join our Cardiac Float Pool at Beloit Memorial Hospital. Sign-On Bonus: Yes Shift: 1st or 3rd Schedule: 7a-7p, 7p-7a Hours per week: 36 hours per week Benefits Status: Benefit Eligible Department: Cardiac Float Pool In this position the Cardiac Float Pool Registered Nurse will provide nursing care for patient several units throughout the hospital to include the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, Intermediate, Emergency Room, and the Cardiac Cath Lab. The Cardiac Float Pool Registered Nurse: Appropriately assesses basic physical, psychological and social needs of patients and their families. Effectively plans patient care with patient and family involvement. Consistently implements the patient's plan of care. Accurately evaluates patient's health status in relation to outcomes of nursing interventions/medical therapies. Provides patient/family education appropriately. Strictly adheres to infection control policies including body substance isolation and blood born pathogen precautions. Actively participates in Quality Improvement program. Performs unit specific duties according to established unit-based competencies. Completes documentation according to policy. Effectively sets goals and priorities for provision of care to a group of patients according to acuity. Ensures patient safety while handling, transporting and providing medications to patients; protects patients from various hazards, falls, disease exposure, etc. Demonstrates ability to perform functions accurately and efficiently with computer software application appropriate to position. Collaborates with other disciplines to meet patient's needs. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Graduate of accredited school of nursing. ADN, Diploma, BSN or MSN degree acceptable.
  • State of Wisconsin or multistate nursing licensure required. (Must request WI licensure within 30 days).
  • Must be BLS certified within three months of hire.
  • ACLS certification required within 6 months of hire.
  • Requires the ability to work independently, and to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
  • Telemetry trained within 6 months of hire.
  • NIHSS certification within 6 months of hire.
  • ASLS certification within 12 months of hire, P ALS encouraged.
  • Glucometer training within 6 months of mire.
  • Moderate sedation training within 6 months of hire.
  • CRRT, IABP, Cardiothoracic surgery trained within 12 months of hire.
  • Requires excellent communication and counseling technique.
  • Ability to interpret, adapt, and apply proper procedures to Beloit Health System policies.
  • Employee possesses the training, knowledge, and skills necessary to perform the following activities (evaluation, treatment, and patient care) for patients in one or more of the following age groups: neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric.
  • Successful completion of pre-placement physical examination.
  • Involves physical effort that includes full range of body motion which includes standing, walking for extensive periods of time.
  • Also assists with lifting patients up to 25 pounds weight, pushing transport carts ranging in weight of 50-200 pounds.
  • Required to have manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
  • Requires to see and hear at a level sufficient to perform job duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Requires working in sometimes stressful conditions or irregular hours.
  • Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids.
