About The Position

The Cardiology Direct Access unit (CDAc) is a specialized department offering highly coordinated cardiology care in a combined setting which includes an overnight Observation Unit and a cardiology Ambulatory practice. The department supports patients referred for same day & time sensitive cardiology evaluations, the outpatient visits of the Advanced Heart Failure & Transplant program and in the Observation unit; post cardiology procedure patients and patient groups requiring short term interventions or clinical evaluations. Requirements

Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program required.
1-3 years related work experience required
License Registered Nurse required.
Certificate 1 Basic Life Support required.

Nice To Haves

Baccalaureate degree in Nursing strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Provides direct care to patients and makes necessary nursing judgments.
Responsible for systematically assessing the health care needs of individuals or groups and for the formulation of a care plan, its implementation and evaluation.

Maintains annual mandatory education requirements, which include emergency skills and unit based competencies.
