About The Position

Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization. Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate. Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care. Note and carry out physician and nursing orders. Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team. Highly acute 24-beds Surgical/Medical Cardiac ICU/Cardiac Recovery Specializing in advanced heart failure, cardiogenic shock, STEMI, transplant, VAD’s, thoracic, vascular, ECMO patient populations Nursing to patient Ratio: 1:1 or 1:2 Supported by Patient Care Technicians, resource, and multidisciplinary teams We have an amazing team of skilled nurses and patient care technicians that work with a multi-disciplinary team and innovative physicians. We work closely as a team to support our patients and each other. Patients we serve: Medical Patients: STEMI, Cardiac Arrest, and Advanced Heart Failure Surgical Patients: Cardiac: Transplant, VAD, CABG, and Valve Repair/Replacement Thoracic: Pneumonectomy, Lobectomy, Esophagectomy Vascular: AAA repair, CEA, complex vascular repair Transplant: Heart and Kidney

Requirements

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • 1 - 2 years of Critical Care (ICU) experience preferred
  • Preferred: At least one year of critical care experience
