About The Position

The Cardiac Cath Lab (CCL) Registered Nurse (RN) provides assessment, monitoring, scrubbing, nursing interventions, and evaluation in the Cardiac Cath procedure rooms for veterans undergoing invasive and non-invasive diagnostic and therapeutic cardiac catheterization procedures, and other invasive cardiac procedures in the Cardiac/Electrophysiologic (EP) Lab, serves as liaisons between cardiologists, patients, and families. The Minneapolis Cardiology Department operates 4 Cath lab Suites and specializes in interventional, electrophysiology and structural procedures and high-risk patient populations. Requirements

  • Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory

Responsibilities

  • Supports Patient Care needs throughout the Cardiology Department and all aspects of the procedure (Nursing, Circulating, Scrubbing and Monitoring).
  • Triages and applies a collaborative team approach in identifying, analyzing, and resolving patient care problems.
  • Cardiac/Telemetry Monitoring is part of this position
  • Provides assessment, monitoring, nursing interventions and evaluation in the Cardiac Cath procedure rooms for veterans undergoing invasive and non-invasive diagnostic and therapeutic cardiac catheterization procedures, and other invasive cardiac procedures in the Cardiac/Electrophysiologic (EP) Lab, serves as liaisons between cardiologists, patients, and families.
  • Administration & Monitoring of medications (including High Risk medications and drips and procedural sedation medications).
  • Advanced Vascular Access Care and Maintenance
  • Works collaboratively with all levels of health care professional and support staff to facilitate positive patent care outcomes.
