About The Position

A reputable healthcare facility is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Cardiac Catheterization Lab team. This role involves providing specialized care to patients undergoing cardiac procedures, ensuring safety, quality outcomes, and adherence to clinical standards.

Requirements

  • Experience in acute cardiac care or step-down unit required
  • Recent cardiovascular interventional nursing experience preferred
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • Active Massachusetts RN license required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required
  • IABP (Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump) certification/course required
  • Pharmacology exam (must pass prior to start)
  • Basic Arrhythmia exam (must pass prior to start)
  • Strong IV therapy and telemetry monitoring skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
  • Must be able to wear lead apron during procedures
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities independently
  • On-call availability required

Nice To Haves

  • CCRN (Critical Care Registered Nurse) or CRN (Certified Radiology Nurse) certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Deliver patient care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation)
  • Administer medications and monitor patient responses
  • Provide pre- and post-procedure care for cardiac interventions (PCI, ablation, pacemaker/ICD, TAVR)
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for coordinated patient care
  • Serve as a resource and mentor for staff and assist with training/orientation
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient care programs
  • Ensure compliance with safety, infection control, and facility protocols
  • Utilize electronic health records and nursing informatics systems
  • Participate in staff meetings and ongoing education
