A Brief Overview The Registered Nurse - Catheterization Laboratory is responsible for the provision of nursing care based on standards of care and professional nursing practice; accountable for the outcomes of nursing care delivered.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing. (ADN) Required
  • Registered Nurse - South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation with South Carolina Board of Nursing Required
  • Basic Life Support Certified - American Heart Association is required within 30 days of hire. Recertification every two years is Required
  • Ability to work with patients, families, physicians and other health care providers with a high level of customer service orientation required.
  • Must be proficient in using Electronic Health Record (EMR) for patient-level care and coordination.
  • Must possess excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Must have ability to collaborate with others to improve quality and address needs.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. (BSN) Preferred
  • Master's Degree in Nursing. (MSN) Preferred
  • Critical care experience Preferred
  • Previous Interventional Cath Lab nursing Preferred
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Certified - American Heart Association Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for catheterization, angioplasty and pacemaker implantations.
  • Assist physician in the catheterization, angioplasty and pacemaker implantations processes.
  • Keep patients calm and relaxed during procedures where they’re required to be awake.
  • Administer appropriate medicine when needed.
  • Perform proper after procedure care.
  • Check vital signs of the patient with proper care.
  • Provide education about medications and care to the patients and families before the discharge.
